Shelter-in-place in effect after University of Oklahoma reports an active shooter is on campus

 The shooter was at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, the school said in a tweet late Friday.

 

“There is a shooter at Van Vleet Oval. Act immediately now. Run away. Hide. Fight! ” the University of Oklahoma said in a tweet shortly before 9:30 pm CT. At about 9:45 p.m. CT, another tweet said campus police were investigating a "possible shot" on campus. “Avoid the South Oval area. Stay safe," the university said in a tweet.
