Tar Wars Celebration kicked off its opening day in London today with spoiler-free announcements of some of Lucasfilm's most anticipated films, from Disney+ original series like Star Wars: Ahsoka and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew to upcoming movies like Indiana Jones and The Call of Fate.
Taking place at the ExCel London Convention Center, Friday's event kicked off with host Ali Plumb welcoming Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy to reflect on the success of the hugely popular Disney+ Star Original Series. Continuing with this year's highly anticipated Star Wars series, Favreau and Filoni announced that Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson in the title role, will debut on Disney+ in August 2023. Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a fragile galaxy. Dawson released a teaser poster for the series and was joined on stage by co-stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Sabine Wren and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who was announced as playing Hera Syndulla. The show ends with a new trailer for the original Disney+ series, written by Filoni, who is producing alongside Favreau, Kennedy, Wilson and Beck. Gilchrist is a collaborator.
